Baw Baw Poe and Eh Kaw Htoo, two young Karen, secretly smuggle medical aid across the border to help their compatriots hiding from the Burmese army in the jungle. The Karen, second most populous ethnic group of the country, have been systematically terrorised for the last 57 years. The Burmese army burns villages, rapes women and shoots civilians at random. In perilous missions Baw Baw Poe and Eh Kaw Htoo document an unnoticed genocide in their country declared a ‘free-fire zone’ by it’s own government. |
